Assessment - Pharmaceutical Process Equipment Manufacturer Our client was
looking to expand its process equipment business within the pharmaceutical and
biotechnology markets. We sized the global market for each product category that
made up this market and helped our client identify the major players for potential
acquisition. We also developed a channel strategy that addressed how our client
would market a broad basket of products instead of his traditional limited product
line. New Product Assessment - Pump Manufacturer We used in-depth
end-user discussion groups to determine which markets placed high value on a new
pump concept. With the client we then determined what modifications were necessary
to ensure rapid adoption. Acquisition - Pump Manufacturer Our
client had identified a European manufacturer that appeared to complement their
product lines and would provide greater coverage of the European market. We studied
the acquisition candidate's distribution, end-user franchise and recent strategic
initiatives. This insight directly affected our client's decisions on overall
marketing fit and valuation of the target firm. New Channel Strategy
- Steam Equipment Manufacturer Our client was assessing its channel structure
to determine whether it would deliver its long-term growth strategy. Through primary
research with end-users and the distribution channels, we identified the needs
of the end-users and categorized them into segments based on buying behavior and
the type of purchase that was made - new construction, retrofit and MRO. Based
on this segmentation model and an understanding of the capabilities of the channels,
we developed a channel strategy that would enable our client to grow its business.
